Millenials Camping

The next time you pitch a tent at your favourite campsite, take a look around. Do you see a lot of Millennials with you? You may even be one of them. There are a lot of reasons why Millennials love camping, and it’s only getting more popular by the year. If you’ve ever wondered why it’s such a favoured choice among the Generation Y, continue reading to find out.

Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you’re standing on a hilltop with nothing but the wind in your hair and the sun in your eyes. Camping and hiking offer a much-needed escape for Millennials, especially with the fast-paced lives people lead these days. When you’re in the great outdoors, everything else seems unimportant.

Camping also gives you a good excuse to disconnect from your online attachments. Social media can be toxic nowadays, so a breath of fresh air is literally and figuratively something Millennials crave. Of course, if you don’t want to be entirely disconnected, you can opt to stay online if you stay close to networks or stay at a campsite that has wifi.

When you work a full-time job or several part-time jobs, you naturally want to take a break every once in a while. Millennials watched their own parents work nonstop every week, having very little time for themselves. However, that’s a concept that doesn’t appeal to the 20- and 30-somethings of today.
There are plenty of ways to relieve stress, but camping accomplishes the same goal and gives you a chance to be one with nature at the same time. Forget your emails. Leave your deadlines behind. This generation knows the value of life, and it’s not worth living if you don’t enjoy yourself.

Millennials may work 50 to 60 hours a week, but that doesn’t mean they’re swimming in money. On the contrary, saving for a good vacation can be difficult due to the high cost of living these days. This is another reason why Millennials love camping. It’s a short vacation that doesn’t break the bank. You don’t have to book fancy hotels or eat at luxurious restaurants somewhere abroad. All you need to do is pack up your camping gear and get going.

With all the instant meals and fast food options available in the market, it can be easy to fall prey to an unhealthy lifestyle. Camping offers you exercise and wellness, which is why Millennials love it so much. They’re the generation that understands the significance of staying healthy.

There are a lot of fun and engaging activities you can do while camping. You can swim in a lake, go bird-watching and challenge yourself to a hike. Hiking is a great alternative to an expensive gym membership, with the added bonus of not having to share equipment with other people.

Millennials have proven that they’re the generation who are more aware and concerned about the environment. They care about the planet and want to reduce their carbon footprint. Going green is not just a trend; it’s here to stay. Camping doesn’t require a lot to accomplish. It’s a sustainable way of having fun and relaxing.

It’s clear that camping can appeal to many generations, but Millennials are particularly drawn to it because of its many benefits. It’s not just another way to spend time with family and friends, which is undoubtedly also a reason why Millennials love camping. So, whether you’re a Millennial who hasn’t gone camping or a member of a different generation, you must try camping yourself to see what’s so alluring about it.
