Boat With Major Upgrades

As a fisho who’s always out in the water, you’ve come to rely a lot on your boat. You spend a lot of time on board, so you have to make sure that the engine and other components are properly maintained. Though everything appears to be running smoothly, you might’ve noticed that the appearance and functionalities of your boat aren’t as up-to-date as the newer vessels. Don’t fret! Here are some of my quick and easy boat upgrades you can do without spending too much money. The advantage of these spends is that I consider them investments in a better boating and fish trip.

Invest, not spend, in your boat with these cool additions for comfort.

Boat owners are now jumping on the trend of LED lights. You can give your cockpit or cabin a more modern and attractive appearance by installing blue LED lights. LED lights are a much better option than the standard incandescent light bulbs. Not only are they brighter and more visible, but LED lights also have a longer lifespan and lower power consumption. Though incandescent bulbs are much cheaper, they have to be replaced more often. Upgrading to LED lights will be quick and easy as there are already compatible bulbs made for every type of lighting fixture.

To give your boat that extra oomph at night, you can also install underwater lights. There are different colours available such as green, white, blue and red. You can also opt for multicolour lights to suit a wide range of water conditions. Aside from its cosmetic appeal, underwater lights are also functional as they provide guidance when operating your boat at night. Underwater LED light strips can be installed by using adhesives. You only need to drill a hole for wiring.

Install a stereo system and make your fishing trips much more enjoyable. There are a lot of inexpensive options made to withstand humidity and salt water. You can even choose one that’s already compatible with your smartphone, tablet or other gadgets. It’ll be a quick and easy install if you already have a current system. When installing a new audio system, you simply have to thread a speaker wiring onto the boat.

Upgrade your helm by equipping your boat with the latest technologies. One such addition is a fishfinder. Installing this device will immediately enhance the quality of your excursions as it will be easier and quicker to locate fish. You can even consider other components such as GPS, high-definition radar, chart plotter or a transducer. If these gadgets are up-to-date, they’ll be able to communicate with each other to provide you with a seamless experience. Fishfinders always give me excellent results when fishing. They are just so worth the investment.

If your boat has some space to spare, you may want to add a refrigerator to your cabin. This is a costly upgrade, but it’ll significantly enhance on-deck comfort. How great will it be to enjoy a cold beverage after spending several hours out in the sun? And your guests will love it. You won’t need as much ice in your esky.

To support all these additional components, it may be wise to install a battery charger, so you won’t have to worry about running out of battery while out in the water. There are rugged, weather-resistant, shock-proof and vibration-proof options available. The component also has indicators, so it’s easy to check your battery’s current status.

Electric trolling motors save fuel and allow you to sneak up on the fish in a stealthy manner. I would not go without one, combined with a fishfinder, you will be catching more fish like me.

If you want to make your boat more comfortable and convenient, consider these quick and easy boat upgrades. They’re great additions because not only do they make your boat much more attractive, they also help enhance your fishing experience. In the long run, by making sure that the boat is up-to-date, you’re also increasing the resale value of your vessel. And there is nothing like getting more for you BOAT – throw in another thousand, as I call them. These investments are not that expensive but will definitely help when it times to upgrade.
