The Northern Territory can roughly be broken up into 7 areas. Starting from the very northwest, you have Darwin and surrounds, the middle north is Kakadu and northeast is known as Arnhem Land. As you head south you enter Katherine and surrounds.
Go further south and you enter Tennant Creek and the Barkly Region. The southern third of the Northern Territory is considered Alice Springs and the surrounding Red Centre. In the southwestern corner, you will find Australia’s and the world’s largest rock, Uluru.
