Kangaroo Island lies just off the mainland of South Australia, southwest of Adelaide. The closest point of South Australia to Kangaroo island is Cape Jervis. It’s only a few hours drive south along the coast. Over a third of the island is protected in nature reserves and is home to native wildlife like sea lions, koalas and diverse bird species. Flinders Chase National Park on the west side of the island is known around the world for penguin colonies and striking coastal rock formations, like the sculpted Remarkable Rocks and the stalactite-covered Admirals Arch.
There are plenty of activities for anyone who is interested in nature to enjoy on the island and everything is easy to arrange.
