GREAT BARRIER REEF

THERE’S NO INTRODUCTION GREAT ENOUGH FOR THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

A wonder of the natural world and a World Heritage listed inspiration, the Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s most famous locations and destinations for adventurers to families looking to get away. Whether it is the ultimate honeymoon in 5 star resorts or a truly awesome fishing charter, you’ll find it at the Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef actually has over 2,000 islands, including the world famous Whitsundays to the spectacular Northern Islands.

The Great Barrier Reef cannot be considered a single location. The only way to get an understanding of the sheer size is by air. You can bungy, skydive, parasail or jet ski, if you are looking for bigger thrills than simply taking in the beauty.

There’s no place that can define the Great Barrier Reef. It stretches over 2,300 kilometres over an area of more than 340,000 square kilometres. Thankfully, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park makes up a large part of the reef, which helps protect against the impact of tourism. So while we all want to go, it’s important to keep our environment in mind at the same time.

Some of the major cities along the Great Barrier Reef include Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Bundaberg and Maryborough – each with their own unique character.

As for recreational fishing, well organised and managed fishing charters are the only way to go unless you are privy to the best fishing hotspots.

We’re collating our fishing charters, fishing options, accommodation, camping sites and adventure providers of interest so you can make your trip happen.
