THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CANOE AND A KAYAK FOR FISHING
So kayak fishing is all the rage. Why not get a canoe instead. A lot of people actually mistake one for the other. Well, depending on your needs one or the other might be the best choice.
KAYAK PADDLE OR CANOE PADDLE
A canoe paddle had one blade at one end. A kayak paddle has two blades, one at each end. A canoe’s paddle is all about moving forward fast through the water where kayak paddles are more about controlling direction.
KAYAK SEATING POSITION OR CANOE SITTING POSITION
When you are sitting down in a kayak, your feet are out in front of you like you are sitting down on your bed. On a canoe, paddlers either sit on a bench or sit on their knees.
PURPOSE OF A CANOE AND A KAYAK
Originally, kayaks were designed for water rapids. They are the water vessels used to take you down a river of raging waters. They are designed to take the rough and tumble. Canoes are designed for leisurely water transport. These days, kayaks are also designed for use on calm waters.
CHOOSING A KAYAK OR CANOE FOR FISHING
If you are looking for a small craft to use exclusively on calm waters and occasionally fish, a canoe is for you. However, if you are looking to fish all the time and try different water conditions and situations, a kayak is definitely for you.
